Environment Group

The Catherine McAuley Environment Group is a well-established group which meets regularly to work in the school garden.

Students have the opportunity to learn skills in planning garden areas, irrigation, planting, composting, the worm farm, striking native plants from cuttings and rejuvenation work in the wetlands area located at the rear of the school.

Fruit and vegetable crops grown in the garden typically include tomatoes, pumpkins, potatoes, corn, peas, beans, cabbage, onions, spinach, herbs, watermelons and strawberries.

Each year the students also enthusiastically take part in Clean Up Australia Day and work to clean up the creek located in the wetlands area.
